Our Credentials
For almost three
decades, our business has revolved around designing and building
“Starship” style control rooms for
commercial entities and government
agencies.
Since 9-11, our main focus has shifted
to
emergency management centers. Having been in the industry for so many
years, we understand the needs and idiosyncrasies of each environment
and have created cost-effective easy to acquire packages.
What
is the most pressing issue in emergency management today?
The most pressing
issue is the time that it takes to go from recognizing a need to
implementing a solution.
Saving hundreds (maybe thousands) of lives depends upon rapid and
effective emergency response to natural disasters and/or acts of
terrorism. It is critical that these upgrades are done quickly and
efficiently.
Why Americon?
First you have to have a budget!
Americon is a multi-faceted company offering three
distinct assets: Design Services, Technical Furniture
Manufacturing and Audio-visual Integration. We are in a unique position to offer all of
these aspects at the same time. All departments collaborate with the
client on the project. The ability to sit face to face and discuss cause
and affect issues internally speeds the process tremendously. The faster we get
answers back to the client, the faster the client can react. Providing a
total solution circumvents many of the normal bureaucratic hurtles and
red tape that
are created when a different contractor perform each piece of the
puzzle.
Why are
there different packaged solutions?
There are very large federal and state centers for
monitoring the many aspect of a disaster. Usually, multiple agencies
come together to resolve problems and implement solutions based on the
situation. The majority of the time, these rooms are unoccupied. Smaller
emergency management centers for police, fire and transportation are
spread all across the country and are considered 24 x 7 environments.
Their needs may be similar in basic function but they may have very
different ergonomic and audiovisual needs. The furniture, as an
example, needs to support a twenty-four hour a day operation.
What is Visionmaster?
The Visionmaster is our answer to a self-contained video wall system.
Incorporated into it as standard features are audiovisual cabinetry;
DLP Rear-projection cubes or narrow mullion LCD panels; a video wall processor that converts the
video
array into a single palette, integrated sound system, along with
record/playback equipment. An optional video conferencing package can be added. The
Visionmaster can simultaneously show running video (live TV,
video-conference, cameras, satellite, VCR and DVD);
stand alone computer video and
network provided applications. We have a number of standard packages
based on the size and shape of the video wall. Many Visionmaster systems
can be installed in a single day.
